Amazon.com Product Description

The Sole TT8 treadmill differs from other treadmills in one crucial area--the running deck is an impressive 22 inches wide (as compared to the standard 20 inches) by 60 inches long. This gives runners more space to work with, thereby increasing their safety and comfort level. At the same time, the TT8 doesn't skimp on power or functionality, with a robust 3.5-horsepower, continuous-duty motor that delivers speeds of up to 12 miles per hour and inclines of up to 15 percent. Add in the six-window LED display--which tracks your speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace--and you have an ideal treadmill for the home fitness enthusiast.

The TT8 is outfitted with a host of additional user-friendly features, including six auto workout programs, four custom programs, and two heart-rate control programs for cardio or weight loss. When in heart-training mode, the treadmill automatically makes adjustments to the incline to keep you in your target heart-rate zone (the treadmill comes with a wireless chest strap with a 99.9 percent accuracy rating). And users with creaky joints will love the Cushion Flex treadmill deck, which is built to protect your knees from excessive pounding, with the ability to reduce impact up to 40 percent compared to running on asphalt. Other details include a double-woven two-ply running belt; armrest speed and incline controls; and armrest cooling fans. The TT8, which offers a user capacity of 400 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame; three years on the motor, deck, electronics, and wear items; and one year on labor.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Treadmill, January 21, 2010

This is an honest review of the Sole TT8. The other review seems to be written by someone at the company, since he says that he owns every single Sole model in his house. I doubt that is an honest review.

Previously I had a Nordictrack but the frame snapped on me and Nordictrack refused to fix it and even hung up on the phone with me. I filed a report with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is why I needed a new treadmill.

I poured over treadmill reviews for weeks online. Its really tough to find honest reviews because there are a lot of fake websites out there written by the manufacturers to review their own products and say that they are good. You can't trust those.

What I liked the most about Sole is that they have a lifetime warranty on their motor, frame, and deck. Thats pretty outstanding and says a lot in itself. The quality of their 'residential' treadmills are so high, that Hilton and Omni hotels use them in their exercise... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent unit, May 2, 2011

Assembly was a breeze. It has numerous settings and programs to fit almost all regimens. The motor is quiet and the deck is wide and comfortable. Walk, jog or run, this unit is well built and solid. The unit responds quickly and silently when changing speed or inclination. Three of us use it about 15 to 20 hours total per week for over a year now and are very pleased with the Sole TT8. This model has been discontinued but subsequent models based on it's design should also be worthy of consideration.

Wow, what a great home product. This treadmill is heavy duty and as sturdy under foot as a gym version. The buttons are easy to use. Does take some assembly. Highly recommend.
