I was very unhappy with the appearance of this guitar. It arrived with a 4.5 inch by 2 inch area of bare wood on the front body of the guitar. I know the ad said worn but it is not typical markings compared to all the images advertised. I also checked many many web sites and none had this horrible bare spot on the front. All only had slight wear on the edges of the guitar body. I took it to a music shop here in town and they laughed at it saying they sent me the mistake to see if I would not send it back but did say it was a pretty good guitar if you can stand looking at that huge area that wasn't stained. I'm very upset about this because now I have to ship it back, pay for shipping until I get refund only so I can buy another guitar. If the advertisement were correct from the start this would not be a problem. I took pictures of it if anybody would like to see them send me an email at ajacobi69@yahoo.com. 5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic value, May 28, 2011

I can't believe I bought a Gibson sight unseen from Amazon but it worked out very nicely. The satin goldtop finish is beautiful and the biting sound of the P90s is exactly what I was looking for to complement my other warmer sounding hollow and semi-hollow body humbucker guitars. The craftsmanship is first class. Then neck is on the thin side (which is what I was looking for). Things like trim on the neck and I can live without for the price. I understand the body is chambered, which makes it comfortably light. The balance is great. The guitar came out of the box perfectly set up for me. The only downside was a broken zipper on the gigbag. A quick call to Gibson (who has outstanding customer service) took care of that - replacement on the way. A brand new, made in America, handmade Gibson for under $900 - a fantastic value.

Excellent value, workmanship is excellent, setup perfect for my preference-string height perfect, no buzzing. Very good tone from neck and bridge pickups in all three selector positions. Quality is exceptional - Can never go wrong buying a Gibson!! I own twelve Gibson's- From the Les Paul Custom to the Melody Maker, Flying V's to Firebird. The Goldtop Rocks and when I say that I mean it kicks butt!
