AJ350..Where have you been all my life? I've hated broken G octaves, bad action at fret 12+ and overall lack of depth and balance in the bass and midrange... that being said:WOW! Nice guitar! Just unboxed it and tuned it up... has the lowest action I've ever seen for a factory run guitar. Sticker inside said guitar had been setup once it got in from Korea. Great job! String height across the entire fretboard TO THE SOUNDHOLE was 2/32! Nice.... very nice. Something else (big deal for me) - I had grown so tired of breaking G octave strings on pin based bridges that I had almost given up and permanently kept my former 12 string tuned to D to avoid breakage. Three cheers for Breedlove's pinless bridge - the G octave walked right up to full concert pitch with narry a wimper! YEAH!!! I can't wait to hook this guitar into our church's audio system to hear the LR Baggs... Stateside Quality Control is questionable since the action was terrible (too high, double the factory spec.) upon receipt. Since I have the tools and experience, I set it up myself. Amazon is an authorized Breedlove dealer. But Breedlove might slide a little on QC since Amazon will deep discount ocassionally. I got mine for $972. Then they raised price to $1024....then back to $1200 like everywhere else. So it pays to shop and wait out the market sometimes. Once this item is setup properly, you can't beat it for the price. Phenominal sustain with or w/o amplification. A built-in tuner to die for. Great workmanship and finish. Sweet tone. And after a little work on my part, great action as well! 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful Next To Martin 12's this is the BEST!, By Johnny Pasta "Johnny Pasta" (SW Michigan) - See all my reviews This review is from: Breedlove Atlas Stage J350/EF-12 Acoustic Electric Guitar (Electronics) This would be my second choice over my Martin 12's I own. I had the opportunity over the holidays to be properly introduced to this model. It sings and chimes and rings like no other 12 string on the planet. Unplugged it was great which is the real test of any acoustic guitar and it passed all of my expectations unplugged. Because let's face it most acoustic guitars plugged in usually disguises it inadequacies. I plugged it into my Genz-Benz Shenandoah 100 Acoustic Guitar amp and it simply blew me away. I think mostly because this guitar comes standard with LR Baggs Electronics the same electronics I have in both of my Martin 12's. You just cannot beat LR Baggs for acoustic guitar pickups. But you'll get these resilient Taylor owners out there who will swear by their beloved Taylors(I swear at them)which in my opinion are overrated and overpriced pieces of garbage. They sacrificed sound over playability. Most Taylors I have played right up to Leo Kottke's signature 12 string sound... Read more |
