Those of you who expect a guitar to be perfect out of the box are really setting yourself up to be disappointed. New guitars require a little tweaking. That is true of a $75 guitar or a $7500 one.The finish of this guitar is nice. It is exactly as pink as the ad makes it seem. It's a lightweight guitar, but it seems to be made of solid wood. The neck was straight and the frets were finished to an acceptable level (I did polish them with 0000 steel wool.) The rosewood fretboard was quite dry. I treated it with lem-oil. The strings are absolute garbage. Replace them at once (that's common on low-end guitars.) The original strings would not stay in tune. Once I replaced them, the tuning problems lessened to a reasonable level. So, I repeat, replace them immediately. If you want the tremolo (which is really a vibrato) to float, then you are going to have to adjust the springs. There are 3... I'm a beginner and was previously borrowing my bro's guitar for lessons. It's nice to have one to call my own & an amp for under $100. The previous reviewer is right! The fretboard is dry and needs some lovin' immediately. The strings that come with the guitar suck - They stay in tune for about 5-10 mins. But, honestly for $75 I wasn't expecting great strings. Although, I do think sellers should be mindful of their consumer.. selling guitars which require an immediate string change to beginners is downright obnoxious. And, my set didn't come with a guitar cable!In my opinion the amp is good.. it's small and actually folds under my couch when not in use. I live in an apartment building so I have the volume on 1 or 2 all the time. I noticed before I bought this that other reviewers (for the other colours of this same set) said that it's really loud. The small 10 watt amp scared me upon first glance but it sounds great for it's size. The guitar sounds good too but I have had to re-tune at least one string almost each time I've practiced on it. All-in-all it's a great starter guitar package that will please the beginner guitarist. |
