Xcel Reef Split Toe 1mm Boot (Ash/Black, 9)

Product Description

Lightweight 1mm reef bootie with excellent stretch and flexibility. Ankles are cut slightly higher for better foot protection. The sole extends slightly up the boot in key areas to increase durability and foot protection; and is solid underneath the split toe, which means no hang-ups with the leash getting caught between the toes. Great fit thanks to the adjustable pull cord and barrel lock, plus an adjustable Velcro strap across the instep.

  • Flexible split toe design
  • Adjustable pull cord and barrel lock on back cuff for best fit
  • Higher-cut cuff covers ankle for enhanced protection
  • Adjustable Velcro instep strap
  • Full "Gripper" sole for excellent traction

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Barefoot, April 8, 2011

I bought these in Hawaii and used them to walk from my Condo down an asphalt path; then hike down a slippery red-mud slope to the bay below; then walk across the beach; then put on my flippers (right over the top of the booties) to go snorkeling. Get the picture? These booties go everywhere!

Here's everything you want to know:
1) They don't have a thick sole, but the sole is rugged and I did use them to hike down to the Queen's baths including hiking over the lava rocks... it's almost like walking in your barefeet, but better. They're not sturdy like a tennis shoe. They're more like a rugged, protective sock. You'll feel the earth beneath your feet. Don't get me wrong, they're very well made and well-worth the money. 2) Because they're only 1mm thick, they are great for slipping your snorkel fins on over the top. 3) The over-the-ankle high-top, with adjustable ankle-strap keeps out the sand when walking down the beach... better than any other bootie or aqua-shoe... 5.0 out of 5 stars reef booties, September 22, 2010

these are extremely comfortable, a plus - they have vent holes on the side to allow the water to escape which is not mentioned in the seller's description, I recommend them to everyone who asks.

I bought theses shoes to use with my fins and I don't care for how they feel. But for walking on various surfaces they're great. So I would recommend, but not for diving.
