Gore Bike Wear Facewarmer III, Black Reviews
7 of 8 people found the following review helpful Doesn't work for my bike commute, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gore Bike Wear Facewarmer III, Black (Apparel) This item is made from soft, thin, warm material, good for keeping windchill off my face. The holes over the mouth allow breathing without too much moisture buildup. I thought this would be nice for my morning bicycle commute, but it isn't. If I am in an upright position it is okay, but when I hunch down on my bicycle and lift my head to look forward, the mask pulls against my face and flattens my nose in a way that is not only uncomfortable but interferes with breathing. So it's no good for bike riding, unless your nose is already flat and broad or you sit upright all the time. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Best light weight facewarmer ever!, By Jenny Tyson "City Slicker" (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gore Bike Wear Facewarmer III, Black (Apparel) I first ordered this facewarmer about 3 years ago and used it for skiing and for bicycling. The facewarmer is a great windblocker without being overly warm - so it's good on every ski day. It's super comfortable and is easy to fix the velcro on the back so it doesn't rub my neck like other brands. I have since given the facewarmer as gifts to friends who also love it. I saw a former review that mentions difficulty in biking. I bike to work daily, in cold weather as well. So I'm not racing and am fairly upright. Having said that, I can breathe great with this mask. So it's really got all stars from me!! 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Good wind breaker for your face and neck, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gore Bike Wear Facewarmer III, Black (Apparel) I wear this riding in Chicago and it helps a lot. I found the weather a bit too cold to ride without a neck warmer and I chose not to use a bacalava. The material is wind resistant and significantly helps in protecting your face but the material is a little thin. I also find it a bit troublesome while riding in that the mask will move slightly and alter your breathing. It affects me most because I wear glasses and if the mask slides down, I start to fog my glasses with my breath. So if you're more of an aggressive rider, I would use a bacalava. |
