1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, January 1, 2011

This review is from: Coby TF-DVD1595 15-Inch 720p TV Combo (Electronics)
I bought the Coby 15" LCD HDTV/DVD player in October. I was thrilled with the price but nervous about the lack of stellar reviews. For the sake of context, I mounted mine on a wall in our breakfast nook so that I could watch TV while cooking in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, my instincts were correct. This TV is barely adequate. First, the remote is abysmal! I would love to talk to the person who designed it. Does it really save that much manufacturing money to make all of the 24, yes 24, control buttons the same size: small little dots, in columns, with 4pt font?? It takes me five minutes to find the play/pause button. And rewinding, forget it. Once you find it the rewind button, (which, incidentally is entitled "F.BWD"- really?) you're too far into the movie for it to be worth going back. RWD was too hard? Or the popular <<? Either would have been better than F. BWD.

Second, the sound quality is awful. The volume is fine when I can find the "mode"... Read more

I bought this TV for use in my RV. I chose it because I saw the same unit at Bed Bath and Beyond where several were used in the store to play promotional and advertising DVDS. All had great, bright, clear pictures. The one I received had an awful picture. The colors are dim and smeared. There is no adjustment which results in a bright picture. The picture is only viewable from directly in front of the screen. A few degrees above, below or to the left or right results in the picture disappearing. Don't buy this TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV for an Excellent Price, September 14, 2010
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD1595 15-Inch 720p TV Combo (Electronics)
Didn't know much about this brand, and got mixed reviews, but I am so glad we purchased it. We bought the mounting kit with it for a total of about $189. My husband installed it under one of our cabinets in the kitchen and I absolutely love it!! I use it to play DVD's, Music CD's; hook up to our computer as second screen, and even plays my IPOD music with USB!! Was surprised about the last one!! Doesn't mention this in the manual but it does... The file structure is a bit messy to comprehend but it plays the songs. I am even having my husband hook it up to our Satellite for cable TV. (Gotta keep up with the news while drinking coffee!) Is a very good TV for our kitchen and couldn't pass up the price...Display is also clean and crisp. Of course you have light glares, which you would expect on any LCD screen.

Hope this helps others...

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge Improvement, September 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Jabsco 29040-3000 Marine Manual Marine Toilet Pump Assembly Kit (29090- Series) (Sports)
Install time was less than 5 minutes. The new locking feature is well worth the price of pump replacement and works great. No more holding tank backing up into the bowl. When compared with the price of replacing the various gaskets and seals to rebuild your existing pump, this is a no brainer. Get it now.

July 2011 update: Seems the seals on this work no better than previous models. After 2 years I again have the holding tank backing up into to the bowl. So, I replaced the joker valve and the bottom flapper at a cost of $36. For just a few $$ more I could have replace the entire pump and had all new seals and O-rings. My advice is to just plan on replacing the the pump every 2 years since it is less expensive to do that than to replace all the seals. Too bad Jabsco couldn't create a product that truly locks.

You should keep one of these on board in case your old head pump fails. A very easy swap and fits all years of Jabsco heads. Rebuilding your old pump may cost almost as much and will take a whole lot more time...

5.0 out of 5 stars Jabsco Pump Assembly, June 2, 2009
This review is from: Jabsco 29040-3000 Marine Manual Marine Toilet Pump Assembly Kit (29090- Series) (Sports)
This is an excellent replacement/upgrade to the earlier pump assembly and is easy to install. All necessary parts are included, and instructions were clear and concise. The new lock down feature is excellent especially for the forward head on our boat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Barefoot, April 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I bought these in Hawaii and used them to walk from my Condo down an asphalt path; then hike down a slippery red-mud slope to the bay below; then walk across the beach; then put on my flippers (right over the top of the booties) to go snorkeling. Get the picture? These booties go everywhere!

Here's everything you want to know:
1) They don't have a thick sole, but the sole is rugged and I did use them to hike down to the Queen's baths including hiking over the lava rocks... it's almost like walking in your barefeet, but better. They're not sturdy like a tennis shoe. They're more like a rugged, protective sock. You'll feel the earth beneath your feet. Don't get me wrong, they're very well made and well-worth the money. 2) Because they're only 1mm thick, they are great for slipping your snorkel fins on over the top. 3) The over-the-ankle high-top, with adjustable ankle-strap keeps out the sand when walking down the beach... better than any other bootie or aqua-shoe... these are extremely comfortable, a plus - they have vent holes on the side to allow the water to escape which is not mentioned in the seller's description, I recommend them to everyone who asks.

I bought theses shoes to use with my fins and I don't care for how they feel. But for walking on various surfaces they're great. So I would recommend, but not for diving.
