Mini DisplayPort to HDMI TV Monitor Adapter for Macbook

Product Description

Use this cable adapter to connect your Mac with a Mini DisplayPort video output port to an external monitor, TV, projector or other display device with HDMI input. Plug the Mini DisplayPort end into your Mac, and connect the HDMI end to an HDMI (male to male) cable, then plug the cable into your HDMI input input jack. ** PLEASE NOTE: The Mini DisplayPort is only found on newer models of Macs - You MUST check what port type you have before purchase. Helpful Notes: This device is intended to function more as an adapter than as a cable, meaning its short length WILL NOT reach from your Mac to the monitor. It will need to be used with an HDMI cable (sold separately).
Highest resolution supported: 1080p.
Apple is now licensing Mini DisplayPort technology, so this item also works with Toshiba Satellite Pro S500; Tecra M11, A11 & S11.

  • Valued accessories package for your device
  • Smart design enables you to plug the devices without removing the case while device stays protected!
  • Easy and fun to use
  • Economical for protecting your device

4.0 out of 5 stars does support audio but not on by default, May 28, 2010

It does support audio but it's not on by default u have go to preferences -> audio and select hdmi, once you do you cannot control the volume through the mbp but play anything with audio and it should sound from the tv, also make sure the tv is set up to receive audio through the hdmi interface, wish I had more rigorously done my research and properly tested it.

I assumed the message I got from the audio preference panel "The selected device has no output controls" once I selected hdmi, implied it wasn't compatible but thats not the case it just meant "I can send audio I just can't control the volume u have to use the source to control the volume", ended buying the griffin video display converter which gave me the same message but played an audio file and bingo, oh well the griffin is a bit better looking with shorter length and comes with an extra hdmi to dvi converter but at over 4 times the price its not worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I dont know what everyones complaining about, April 5, 2012

Mine is awesome and its built pretty awesome. Worked right away with my mac. Only issue would be the sound but my mac doesnt have hdmi audio option, so i cant really complain about that. Aside from that, it's built right, doesn't seems flimsy or anything. Been using it for a month already with absolutely no issues. I highly recommend it.
